EHX Memory Boy

I'm surprised there's no thread about this pedal. Has anyone bought one yet? Or is anyone planning to? I ordered one just before they came out and it's on its way, but it probably won't get to Australia until late next week. It certainly looks like a lot of pedal for $100.

First time I've heard of it. Is it the nano version of the Memory Man?

I've been seeing this pedal pop up in discussions on other forums, but I don't know much about it. One guy said it's destined to be a "new classic" pedal.

Not exactly. It's a much cheaper ($100!) analog delay which I guess has been made to compete with pedals like the Carbon Copy. It has a few more bells and whistles than even the DMM though, such as expression pedal control for the modulation and a square wave setting for the repeats of the delay. It also runs off 9v power. There's a Memory Toy pedal coming out as well for around $80, which has pretty much the exact same features as the Carbon Copy and looks to be about the same size.

There are a few videos on youtube if you want to check out some of the weirder things it can do.

I'm hoping that this'll make old big box DMMs much cheaper, but I'm doubtful. To be completely honest, my favorite thing about the EHX pedals is the massive old school esque sizes.

I watched some of the videos on youtube last night. I think the weird modulations that this pedal produces is some of the most useable weird stuff I've ever heard. Very cool pedal.

I got mine the other day and it's unreal. So great for ambient stuff. Can't wait to use it live.
