...scratching in the wall in front of the computer.

With the above list in hand, go get that mouse, document the process, and make this thread actually matter.

Better... Motion activated mini airsoft AEG auto turret with an attached camera. There are instructions on how to build one online. Just put it in the hole and off to the side so the mouse gets pelted with a full auto spray when it tries to go in.

all very interesting ideas, but it will most likely die and we will suffer from the smell for a few days... it may or may not look like the mouse pictured in the above post, but if it does i will glady follow your instructions Giga Hertz. and i would love to kick a hole in the wall and video tape myself spraying it with fly spray and beating it, but i would have to pay for and fix the hole in the wall. but please, continue with suggestions.

I'm relatively certain it will smell for more than a few days... I would get it out and kill it while I have the chance. Those pesky little critters can cause more damage than you might think.
