Fascinating premise and excellent opening act just led up to a disappointingly typical action movie finale. I also just thought there were a lot of ideas and questions that the movie would have benefited from exploring; it didn't take enough advantage of its premise for me. The visual effects are great, and while it wasn't anywhere near the most brutal thing I've seen, the violence is pretty rough at times. |

| I enjoyed some of the little things they threw into the action scenes, but ultimately there were too many shots of guys shooting machine guns.
As interesting as the alien/apartheid/human rights metaphor was I found the transformation of Wikus to be much more interesting. They did a good job I think of making him subtly become more of a Rambo type person throughout the movie. |

| I really loved this movie. Best film I've seen at the cinema for quite a while
I quite enjoyed the gore actually. I guess because it was action-gore as opposed to horror-gore which I am really not comfortable with. And the accents made the F-word kinda laughable at times. |

| I'm so glad the general reception for this is different than it is here. Bought this with money from Christmas recently.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| They used the f word so much, I’m not sure if it’s even a curse word anymore.
I liked it slow to get going but had funny parts; it has to be your kind of humor to like it I guess. I just hope they make another one. |

| If you found the first 30 minutes of this too boring I shudder to think of other great films that would get turned off too.

| This movie was good. Wikus was awesome. Third best character from films last year.

| ***spoilers***
The first 30 minutes seemed like a Monty Python sketch.
"Oh hallo, hallo. Mr. Big Awkwardly-CG'ed Bug with an Anglo name, hallo. I was hoping, you, erm, sign this eviction form, erm. Oh yes, and even though cat food is essentially low grade human food, you're addicted to it and will sign away your soul for it, hallo, hallo."
Wormy Guy's transformation into a driven bad-ass was poorly done. Political commentary was heavy-handed and insulting to the actual victims of apartheid. We were never given insight into the aliens until magically a couple had human facial emotions.
Bad dude survived everything that laid waste to his band of men until he was torn to bits by a crowd of...like four aliens.
The switch from mockumentary to normal filming back to mockumentary was awkwardly-executed.
Evil corporation?? No wai!!!! Why didn't a billion other movies anyone else think of that?
Could it be that the alien making a papier-mache rose might have something to do with our main character...no!!!!
This movie was unintentionally comical, and where it may have been going for mystery (why did the Anglo-named alien have all this tech ability both on and off ship if his people were shivering victims at the beginning? Did the evil corporation fake the footage? Why didn't the major, world-steering nations of the UN security council, no offense to South Africa, take over the affair? How did Wormy Guy and Mr. Alien get to the building so easily?) as opposed to just plot holes, it failed to resolve or even tantalize. It just fell apart.
