| we got internet around 1999 according to my parents, but I never used it till about 2002-2003
I still have fond memories of Windows 95, but I remember something before Windows 95 (idk what OS it was other than it was made by windows) and how cool it was to have Windows 95... ever since then my parents have gotten worse with computers and I have gotten better

I do, however, remember having an odd fondness of Windows 98 (odd, considering they're basically the same... And BSODs were more common than campaign promises). |

I was doing tech support when '98 came out. BSODS and illegal operations were maddening on 95.

At least 98 was easy to reformat and reinstall, if I remember correctly. |

Hot dog stand. Before searching for it, I'd try something safer for your eyes. Like a couple of jets of rock salt. |

I actually switched from primarily OS6 or 7 (can't remember anymore straight to NT4.0 in 1996 and never looked back. before that I had a smattering of experiences with 3.11/NT3.5/9x but mostly in the apple world. Good times.
I've never run a win9x OS on any of my home machines
NT4 -> NT5RC1 -> Win2k -> Whistler -> XP Pro
oh, and then I stopped caring about or enjoying computers so I haven't upgraded my home box since 2003. |

| I think it was 1996 when I first got on the internet. We used AOL dial-up and a Packard Bell PC at the time. We've since upgraded to Cable.
