I won't tell you to take your photo out, but the whole point of the challenges is to be exactly that: a challenge. The whole reason we started them to begin with was so that we could challenge ourselves as photographers, not to see who can dig up some random photo that might fit to try and win some contest. The contest isn't the point at all. It's the challenge that matters.

Really? I mean it's fine, I can take it out. But in the last challenge one of the entries had nothing to do with the topic, and I was told when I mentioned it that because of rule three that I posted above it didn't matter.

I'm new here, I didn't realize it was such a big deal. I'll withdraw the picture. I didn't mean to cross the line. I thought the point was to have fun.

It's not like we're mad at you. Just explaining what the spirit of the challenges is.

That rule was developed more for subjectivity about the particular challenges. One person can interpret a challenge theme wildly differently than another, and we didn't want to exclude images because some people didn't feel a photo fit a particular theme, while others did.

Now, the reason why we can't dig up old images is because that would make the challenge far too easy, and make the playing field quite unfair, if you think about it. As for myself, and many of the others around here, I have vast banks of images going back years that I could enter for any given challenge, but the excitement is in creating something new. Everyone starts fresh, so to speak.

That said, here's my entry.
