Hooray for Gooba!

With the demise of The Neverknown, I'm starting some other projects. One of them is Hooray for Gooba! Combining my love for comic books and punk rock, Hooray for Gooba! plays with the conventions of the superhero genre while strumming furiously on various guitars. The intention is also to take lyrics directly from comic books, specifically from the oddball made-up songs that find their way into the pages of the funnybooks.

Updates!

I am currently writing and recording an as-yet untitled EP for Hooray for Gooba! The EP will be with a "full band," which essentially means me on guitars, vocals, and bass, MIDI on drums. Here's the tentative tracklist along with the progress for each song. The actual order of the tracklist is currently undetermined.

1. "My Evil Twin Has a Moustache" - "full band" version recorded, vocals need to be re-done. This will be my submission to the CGR Battle of the Bands.
2. "Gooba Wins!" - written, rough (very rough) demo recorded.
3. "Time Paradox (One Hundred Years)" - "full band" version recorded, final tweaks necessary.
4. "M.O.D.O.K. (Why Are You Killing Everybody?)" - written.
5. "Ballad of the Legion of Substitute Heroes" - partially written.
6. "On the Origin of Sidekicks" - written, rough acoustic demo recorded.
7. "Fourth Wall" - partially written.

Obviously there is a lot of work to be done. I'm hoping to write a couple more songs as well. If I end up with more than 10 songs, I'll just make it a full-length. It will be available for free online. The full version of "My Evil Twin Has a Moustache" will obviously be the first song released due to the requirements of the CGR Battle of the Bands.

Also, I need a title. Any suggestions will be considered.

I'm debating whether to do a pseudo-cover of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song entitled "Adolescent Mutated Gun Kata Warpigs."

I have posted the lyrics to "Time Paradox: One Hundred Years" in the Songwriting forum. Critique if you are so inclined.
