| I have recorded guitars, vocals, and bass for "On the Origin of Sidekicks," but I'm not entirely pleased with the bass. I've also done all the MIDI for the drums. It's probably the fastest song I've ever written, which is why my novice bass skills didn't do it justice. I think it's at 260-270 bpm if I remember correctly. I might take another pass at recording the bass tonight. It also needs some more backing vocals. If all goes well, I'll upload a rough cut of the song later tonight. |

You set a high standard out of the gate. Keep it up... does your band do live performances? You'd go over great comic and anime conventions. |

Unfortunately, I don't actually have a band. It's just me at the moment. I will be playing a show in late January, either solo acoustic or with recorded backing tracks, but I'd love to find some like-minded band members soon. |

| Solo is great too... usually works better acoustically - part of the anticipatory mindset. You should try a con... it's good to perform in a place where your genre is appreciated and even expected. They've already got enough undead pirate and emo goth vampire bands, they need you to come in as a superhero. |

I'm hoping to have the first EP ready for January, 2010. After that we'll see where it goes.
Here's a rough cut of "On the Origin of Sidekicks." Let me know what you think. |

| That's kewl too... I can almost hear the sidekicks in chorus in the background with, "let me be your sidekick - hey, you're gonna need a sidekick." It reminds me of the world of the Tick, or the movie Sky High. I'm thinking this is the music that the kids from PS 238 should be listening to. |

| PS 238 is great. I got tired of waiting on the webcomic and bought up all the trades last year.
(comments on the music are possibly forthcoming)

| Got a bit sidetracked from recording music during and after our big move from one side of the city to the other. Here's a take on the old Spider-Man theme song that I recorded today. I still need to do all the drum programming and fine-tune everything (maybe re-record a few parts), but I'm pretty happy with how it's coming together.
I used to watch the old 60's Spider-Man cartoon all the time growing up. They always had re-runs on TV. Even though it was terribly cheezy and re-used animation constantly, I have very fond memories of the show. And the theme song was (and still is) amazing. |
