Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus?

Okay…I just got my PP2+ yesterday and I have some questions. Below is a pic of my pedal board (in process). I’ve used a Dunlop Power Brick in the past to power everything so I’ve always just been able to run power straight to each pedal and I’ve never had to mess with daisy chains. I’m having trouble figuring out how to power my pedals the way I want with the PP2+ though.

I have 9 pedals that require power (a Korg Pitchblack goes in the blank spot on the right). The Full Drive 2 and the OCD I want to be powered by 18V, everything else 9V. So…how can I power all this with one PP2+?

Also, what’s the deal with how it powers Boss pedals?

what exactly is the problem? Not enough outputs on the PP2?

The big advantage of the PP2 is power isolation. If you have more pedals than you can power, then you are limited to daisy chaining off of the outputs. This will give you some isolation. Pedals being powered off of the same output will not be isolated however.

It will power Boss PSA (9v) and ACA (12v) pedals, outputs 1-4 DIP switches pick which it puts out.

For 18v, you'll need to order a cable from Voodoo that combines two of the outputs to one jack. If you've got two pedals you want to run at 18v, you'll loose four of the outputs on the PP.

You can daisy chain off one output of the pedalpower, which would be fine for a couple of dirt pedals (or in your case, the Dynacomp, trem, and tuner...I don't know about the chorus, I'd probably keep it on it's own output), unless they need to be regulated.

You could also go to the pitchblack, then feed another pedal with the 9v out of the pitchblack.

The DD-20 needs to be on output 5 or 6 with the DIP switch in the normal position.

1 &2 - DIP normal Fulldrive
3 & 4 - DIP normal OCD
5 - DIP normal DD-20
6 - DIP normal Chorus
7 - DIP normal
8 - DIP normal Daisy Chain --> Tuner, Dynacomp, Trem

Just call Voodoo and they'll help you get what you need. They're very nice and easy to work with.

Yeah...this is what I thought. I read that the only way to achieve 18V was to combine two outputs. I'm wondering if I could daisy chain that some how? Also, the Trem is a PSA pedal too and from my understanding must be powered by 5 or 6 also?

Guyskankrye,

I have the original PedalPower and it had an A/C plug on the back of it. I think the PP2 does as well. I would use your old "brick" powered from the PP2 to power the rest of your pedals. This will give you room for expansion as well. This is what I do on my board. I use the Voodoo power supply to power my important pedals and use the brick to power the small things like my tuner and two of the A/B switches I built (the power is needed just to power the indicator lights I installed). You should have plenty of room under your board to stow both of these power supplies neatly.

TR-2 works fine on any of the outputs with the DIP switch on normal. It's the ACA pedals that need outputs 1-4 with the DIP switch on.
