I'm going to try a different approach this year. I'm not going to do any planning and I want to hit 50k words at any cost, but my *goal* is to end up with *anything* worth keeping, even if it's just a 500 word excerpt.

This is the first time I'm going into it without any serious planning and outlining. I'm just going to wing it and hope it works out.

Whoa, I didn't realize it was coming up so soon. I have absolutely nothing, besides a vague character idea that I don't even like. I'm usually not super prepared, but this is stretching it. Haha. Oh, and I'm going to Detroit on Sunday...

I cranked out almost 900 words during my first sitting this afternoon after lunch. I'm going to try to get in at least two more hours tonight before bed. My goal is to have at least 3,000 words tonight.

I did 581 this morning, during the hour between 12AM and 1AM, before finally going to bed. I would've gotten more, but I wrote it by hand, due to my laptop being dead, and my desktop was in the other room. I'm just about to sign off and write some more.

I could possibly be persuaded. I've taken it easy the first two days so that I won't burn myself out early. I've got about 3400 words right now and I'm going to bed. I am hoping to crank out double or triple tomorrow.

7914 words (all of them crap). Yay! I'm on pace to have plenty of time to have off days, because I know I will.

Also, it helps that one character is loosely based on me and most of what happens to him is semi-autobiographical.

Man. I just made it to 2,000. Heavily considered giving up, or at least starting over, today. I just need to accept that it's crap, and that 98% of everything else I write will be crap.
Crap can be a lot of fun.

However crappy yours is, mine is crappier. You'd be amazed how many times a girl can mention feeling nervous about her first date. I think it's something like 20 times in one chapter.

I was going to read through what I had written and ended up writing more. I'm sitting at 5,975 words right now and I AM going to bed.

FWIW...I had three of my characters sing the chorus of Def Leppard's Photograph while drinking beer and partaking of illicit substances.
