| New to dcTalk All the dcTalk threads seemed really old, so I'll start a new one. I've never paid any attention to dcTalk until recently. (Kinda have to now with Michael Tait as the new frontman for my favorite band.)
So I recently downloaded (purchased legally from Amazon, thankyouverymuch) Intermission : Greatest Hits.
I like it. But I don't think I need to buy any more dcTalk. I think Tait's got a great voice. Not sure that I like him in nb but that's a whole 'nuther topic...
I am surprised that I like TobyMac. I may have to check into some of his solos stuff. I'm so not into the whole rap thing, but I've listened to a few of his songs, and watched a few vids on youtube, and I like him.
I don't even know the other guy's name. Sorry about that.

| In my opinion...if you have the greatest hits and Jesus Freak...you have all the DC Talk you need. Tait put out a couple of albums under the name Tait but I didn't care for him. Toby Mac is okay...my wife loves him...I think he's...well...okay. I personally think Kevin Max is the best of the three. He's a bit eccentric but I think his albums are good. Stereotype Be and The Imposter are especially good. |

I really enjoyed what I can remember of Supernatural and for my listening tastes, I would have skipped Intermission and just gone with their last two studio albums (JF and Supernatural).

Check out my new band, The Morning Glass. |

| Who plays the music on their albums? Are they musicians or just vocalists? I gather that Tait doesn't play an instrument. I don't know about the others. Quote: |

| Jesus Freak the album? I'll check it out. But yeah, I'm pretty much thinking that the GH is all I'm going to have to have. It's not like the first nb I heard. I had to have more.

I agree on the last two DC Talk albums. I don't really like anything they did before Jesus Freak. Supernatural is okay but inconsistent if you ask me. |

| You can actually download a double album containing Jesus Freak and Supernatural for $14.99 from iTunes. That's only $2 more than the greatest hits album.

I was just listening to Supernatural yesterday. There's a lot of excellent songwriting and composition on those two albums. And great guitar playing to boot. |

| I really do like Toby Mac. I think probably a little bit goes a long way, but it's fun music.

I believe that Tait was/is in the process of learning to play guitar and that Kevin may have some limited keyboard skills (but don't quote me on that). AFAIK, Toby does not play an instrument at all.
BTW, wayyyyyyy back in the day, (when they first began), the name of the group was dc Talk and the One Way Crew.

| They actually went from DC Talk to dc Talk... which should be reflected in this forum's title.
Tait and KMax are fabulous singers, though. Kevin has a seriously cool sounding voice, and was always my fave of the three. |
