Novels

How many novels do you read in a month/year?

I feel a bit lost if I don't have a novel. I usually have other books that I'm reading at the same time, but a novel is my mental escape. I read one or two a month.

I usually read one every 1-2 weeks. I have an hour and a half commute to uni each way 4 days a week, so I have a lot of time for reading.

if you are in to romance novels, harlequin is celebrating 60 years service and has free offers on their site. I was there three weeks ago and got the scoop. Not sure if I also saw a banner on CGR's homepage.

Summer/school breaks I usually read one every 1-2 weeks. During school, I try to read at least one book a month for pleasure reading.

For me, prefer investigative. Last one was Columbo.

I love historical fiction. Add in a little romance, and I'm hooked.

I like... I don't really know. Mythological/adventure I suppose. Fantasy.

Not all crime but Sherlock Holmes is a must. Some sci-fi (Lewis' Space Trilogy, anything by Ben Bova).

When I am really reading, at least two a week. I read nearly all of one today. I really need a library card.

It varies, but at the very least one a month. I've became more interested in film criticism lately, so it's taken up quite a bit of my fiction time.

Usually I read about 2 or 3 a month unless I am really into a specific book or set of books. If I am really into a specific book I can get through it in less than 2 days. If not it takes me about 2 weeks or more.

I do like to read though. It's a nice way to escape somewhere else for a while.

I used to read novels in one sitting. (my friends like to joke that I am addicted to words. I need to read something at all times. sometimes I will read cereal boxes. then, I will read them again. and the third time, I will usually read them backwards. I swear. I think I have a problem.) I would read a few books per week, but they were usually books I'd already read a few times. I have a small library at home, and I tend to read and reread my books on a regular basis. I guess you could say I read an average of 2-3 books per week.

now, however, work sucks up about 110% of my time, so I read in small amounts, which is really quite a new thing for me. I am not used to things taking longer than a single day to read. that said...I think last month I read about 5 books. one was a novel, the rest were journals. I just finished a book yesterday, but I don't think it can be considered a novel--it's just over 100 pages long. it's serious stuff, though. one of my students asked if she could borrow it, and I think I need to give it to her with a warning.

I'm out of new books to read, so I need to hit half price books and see what I can find. if I find good stuff, I will read a couple of novels this month. otherwise...I've just been working through non-novel non-fiction materials.
