Hot Rods and Classic Cars

Post pix of your (or your favorite) classic cars.

This is my Dad's 1937 Ford Panel Delivery. It weighs about 4,000 lbs and has a 350 V8 Corvette engine (supposedly rebuilt, but doesnt have nearly as much power as it should) paired with a 4 speed auto trans (that slips if you give it too much power). Me and my Dad are going to either put a different 350 V8 in or rebuild a 427 V8 that we have in the garage and pair that with a new 5 speed auto (it's already in our garage) that is rated for like 1000HP... we are also pricing out supercharger kits for it.

My dad bought the car before I was born, but it wasnt fully assembled and painted until I was about 2... the interior isnt complete, we need to do the aformentioned work on the drivetrain, it needs some body work, and it scratched and chipped so it needs to be repainted ( there are some more details we would like to add as well)

So basicaly it has a lot of work left to do on it ... still it's fun to take to the Dream Cruise and it's great for picking up chicks.

the rest of the pix are here

My '67 F-100. Has 20" rims, and a custom SSB disc brake setup on the front. Everything else still needs work. I have a 460 and a C6 sitting in my garage waiting to be rebuilt....

Ford or Chevy 427? To me, the only thing spoiling that ride is the Chevy motor in a Ford product.

Other than that, that's a really sweet ride. Nothing quite like a project car.

350's are staples of hot rods. I am a pretty big Ford enthusiast, but I still understand why people use them.

The one we would rebuild is a Chevy 427, but we are probably going to use the 350 from my Dad's old Corvette. It's kinda funny to think the original had a Flathead V8 with like 85 HP

here are my top 5 Classic Muscle Cars

Corvette Mako Shark II

Corvair Monza GT

Cobra

Late 80's Camaro Z28

1970's Chevelle SS

All big old pushrod V8's are created semi-equal. Oh wait, did I just say that out loud in here?

*ducks*

As for classic cars, my dad has owned a few. Unfortunately, they were all sold prior to my existence. Here are a few of them...

1959 MG-A Coupe. His was white. What a beautiful little British car. Oh, and they were Le Mans racecars in the early days as well.

Porsche 1600 Normal. It was the rare version that wasn't the 'super.' I'm unsure of the year..... but it got away from more than one cop during the time that he owned it..... Looks something like this, but with less trim.

There were a few more.... a pair of VW's, a fairly rare Fiat product, and a selection of older American cars.

As for my favorite classic cars.... I'm a sucker for the rare British cars that were good. The DB4 GT is amazing. There's nothing quite like a Lotus 7. It and it's newer Caterham counterparts are still one of the best trackday cars around.... And then there is the holy grail of a 911 fanboy.... the original 911 RSR. Whether it's the 2.8 or the 3.0....

That's because you were born in the '90's.

The Iroc is a true mullet-machine. I think they called it the 'Iroc' so people could say "Iroc a mullet."

Who cares... I love all Camaros, but aside from the new ones those are my favorites.

I'm not even a muscle car guy, but I know that the best Camaros were '67-'69....

As far as looks go yes, but performance wise it isnt even close... I actually kinda dislike the way the 1993-2003 models look even though (performance wise) they are far superior.

Performance wise, you're still buying a used Camaro... so it's kind of a moot point anyway....
