| Republicans are their biggest opponent. I'm on vacation and my family loves to watch Fox and O'Reilly was on and actually made what seemed to me a very logical (I know, it scared me too) point that seems to me a big 'duh' moment that people should have realized years ago.
During this he specifically was referring to Republicans but it could be said of both parties..
People who make a big deal over things like birth certificates and spreading anti-opposition propoganda/slander do nothing more but label their party's followers as crazy extremists and hurt the party more than help it.
It seems pretty basic that instead of harping over stupid slogans that instead they should be proposing solutions.
Not really sure what else to say but... thoughts?

| Quite.
So, if it's true of both parties.... I suppose the statement could be made that "partisan hacks are their parties biggest opponent." |

It just seems to me that if they could just realize what seems so obvious we could get so much more done. Who cares about his effing birth certificate, even if he were born in Kenya is anybody going to be able to get him out of office, the dems heads are so far up his ass they wouldn't do anything, and they have a huge majority, not only that but he controls the military...

| Right. Complaining about useless BS that isn't going to change anyway.... is pretty dang stupid. This is actually my biggest gripe with the two-party-system. Not the fact that we realistically get only two choices for our head of state, but that it tends to polarize most of the nation to one end or the other and promote this sort of partisan bickering and stupidity. |

Not really sure what else to say but... thoughts? | I honestly think one of the biggest jokes of bipartisan politics is the back and fourth bickering. The saddest part is that it works.

| Maybe they are their biggest opponent, but if they would just stick to their principles of individual freedom, small government that's controlled by the people (instead of the opposite we see now), low taxes on people and businesses (so people can spend and businesses can hire and the economy can grow again) and the right to life for the unborn, then I think they would be able to take back the senate in 2010. |

People want liberty... for what they want to do, but not for other people.
They want the government to cut spending, but not on the things they benifit from.
BTW: then that unborn is born should we let it starve to death? If "no" then you've got welfare.
And should we allow it to be abused? If not, you'll need child protective services and a foster-care system.
And should we allow it to die from curable illness? If "no", don't forget to pay for government healthcare.
And should it be allowed to grow up illiterate? If "no", you have pubilc schooling to fund as well.
Of course, the big two for your taxes are medicare and the military. Which of those would you like to defund? |
