Need a GOOD Noise Supressor

Ok. I have heard the Boss NS2 Destroys tone and sucks, giving a digital feel.
I have heard good things about Electroharmonix and their humdebugger.
I have heard good things about the ISP decimater.

I do not know which to get. I do not want to sacrifice my tone in the least.

I asked this around a while back.... it seems that the ISP was the one most recommended. I've not had the opportunity to try it out, though.

The NS-2 may suck a tiny bit of tone, but if you're leaving it on all the time like you are probably getting a noise suppressor to do, I generally find that it does the job its supposed to do very well with some impressive features. I'd need to buy two ISP Decimators to do the job one NS-2 does for me. There are mods you can do to turn boss pedals true-bypass anyway, so honestly there's nothing wrong with that pedal, and if you find the features are what you need, its definitely a good one.

FWIW, I would guess (and correct me if I'm way off base here) that for the type of music where you'd be running a noise suppressor all of the time, a little bit of tone loss on the front end doesn't make much of a difference down the pipeline.

are you wanting a noise gate, or a noise supressor?

I am not sure I understand the distinction.

Is it that one supresses the noise or hum at all times, while the other takes away all noise while the guitar isn't being played, and thus hum is present in the actual playing?

Rocktron, I was reading is pretty good.... of course every product has some that love and hate it....

Well currently I have the rocktron hush pedal and an NS-2 for sale if you are interested. The hush is pretty good. I haven't demoed the NS-2 yet.

Basically, there can be noise gates which kill the signal below a threshhold, and there are filters which filter out hum. The latter by definition will take a little of your signal with. Me, I don't care if there is some hum while I am playing but I have been debating getting a noise gate to kill my signal when things are quiet.

Hmm... well I am very open to taking those off your hands.
