| I wonder what is up with Virginia Tech, that they are ranked so high. I am just looking forward to football (and hockey) in general. I can't wait to see some games. |

| VT is overrated is also the first thing that entered my head when I saw those rankings.Ugh,I hate me some Hokies.Im physched about GT though, pretty much everyone returning on offense and a lot of returners on defense. What could be our downfall is our front line on D.Lost 3 of 4 starters from a beastly line last year.If we can get some guys to step up there we could be amazing.Great secondary, great backfield,if Nesbitt ups his passing game some more with some better recievers and our D line steps up...this could be a great year,Im excited!

| This is what ESPN had to say about the Virginia Tech Hokies Quote: |
Originally Posted by ESPN.com The 2008 season was supposed to be a rebuilding one for the Hokies, but they finished 10-4 and won the ACC championship. After beating Cincinnati 20-7 in the FedEx Orange Bowl, Virginia Tech will be a big favorite to win its fourth ACC title in only its sixth season in the league. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor must become a better passer, but tailback Darren Evans should be even better after running for 1,265 yards with 11 touchdowns as a freshman. The Hokies were one of the youngest teams in the country last season and are aiming toward 2009 to become national title contenders. | Also to iceman, those are preseason rankings, so yeah, some are bound to be overrated. That's the reason they are "pre" season. They haven't played a game yet. Hatred of a team, has no real bearing on their actual talent or level of play. That would be a very immature way for ESPN to go about ranking teams.
And my original post has been edited to include the top 25 according to ESPN.

| I'm looking forward to Lane Kiffin. He makes for an entertaining Villain. Pretty much everyone hates him, and it has little to do with like/dislike of Tennessee. Can't wait to see what happens.

| ESPN seems to be the only that has VT that high
The Preseason Coaches' Top 25 Rankings:

25. BYU
Athlon Top 25 Rankings -(Athlon has been the most accurate magazine at predicting national championship contenders based on preaseason rankings)
1. Florida Gators
2. Oklahoma Sooners
3. Texas Longhorns
4. USC Trojans
5. Ohio State Buckeyes
6. Alabama Crimson Tide
7. Penn State Nittany Lions
8. Virginia Tech Hokies
9.Oklahoma State Rebels

Nothing makes me happier as a Buckey fan and a BIG 10 fan to see that Ohio State is in the top 5, The Big ten has 4 teams ranked in the top 25, LSU ranked that low, Michigan not even in the polls, and Nebraska to once again be a possible BCS contender. I have always enjoyed watching Nebraska play football.

| I'm surprised to see that Georgia is ranked that high..it would seem they would be low considering what they've lost, offensively, it least.

| Florida State and Notre Dame are overrated as usual. It's almost like they NEED to be in the top 25. Utah as number 2 and USC as number 3 in the coach's poll is just ridiculous as well.
