| Dude... What does Boise State have to do? Nobody wants to play them, and they get hosed because of it. |

Pete Carroll leaves USC...interesting and pretty surprising.

Pete Carroll leaves USC...interesting and pretty surprising. | I asked my dad on Jan. 1st during the rosebowl game what he thought would happen if Pete Carroll left USC. He told me that wouldn't happen. Guess I won that. I wasn't expecting that at all. |

| Wow. Crazy. He had such a good deal at USC. He gives that up for a job where he is unlikely to succeed, and can be fired at any moment. |

It's crazy to me that you give up a very good and stable job in college to go coach in the NFL. Although, some NFL coaches are great on that level and fail to perform at the college level ala Charlie Weis. So maybe he can bridge the gap and be good on the professional level as well. Only time will tell. But the projected top 25 is out already for next season in college football and ESPN has USC down at the 20th spot and that was before Carroll announced his leaving. | Lane Kiffin to leave Tennessee Volunteers for USC Trojans job - ESPN Los Angeles
Man.... maybe the problems at USC are bigger than we think... Lane Kiffin? Seriously? There wasn't a better candidate that would agree to take that job? The guy doesn't have a successful coaching record, and he's kind of an a**. Doesn't seem to be a good fit to me at all. |

Likely one of the reasons that Caroll left. I thought Kiffen had re-energized the Tenn program. I always feel a bit sorry for the recruits, but a free college education sometimes comes with a few unexpected suprises (as does life). |

| Tennessee is a mess right now. Kiffin leaves, Muschamp says "no", they can't even take David Cutcliffe from Duke. I think most coaches are scared of violations that may have occurred under Kiffin. It's probably a good thing Eric Berry opted for the draft. |
