Looping Pedal Question

The only looper I own is the looper on my Line 6 DL-4. So I'm not overly familiar with loopers.

I'm wondering if there are any looping pedals out there that would allow me to record something or several somethings into memory and keep it there forever. And then be able to pull it up at the touch of a button?

My goal is just to not have to keep re-recording things into my looper every time I play. To record it once, then you're done.

From googling, it looks like this might do the trick.

Once you start storing that many loops, though, I'm not sure the idea of a pedal to access them makes sense.

Why not just get a sampler with a sequencer built-in? A lot more money, true, but also a lot more flexibility.

The Boss RC-2 and its variants also do that, but you can only store 11 loops max (maybe more with the bigger ones, I'm not sure).

I agree with Nate though, unless you just want to do really simple stuff
