It also has a lot of acid in most roasts- Americans favor medium roasts in leisure drinking, but the coffee market is driven by morning drinkers who get heavy, dark roasts for the "higher" caffeine, which brings with it a deeper roast profile and higher acid/oil levels.
Personally, I would do terrible things for a
La Pavoni Europiccola with wood accents. I'm fairly certain I would outright mug someone and jack their car up for a chance at owning a
Speedster. But since most people don't get excited to the point of talking fast over $8,000 espresso machines, I'll just say that cheapies kill me. Largely because I can't figure them out. And with the preference I'm developing for the mechanics of a lever machine (I've started to taste the not-so-good side effects of pumping water through the grinds as opposed to pressing it through)... yeah. I'm dead to rights on ever owning a cheap espresso machine.
