| nice going, Sean! =)
here are some:
oud: asturias by albeniz --farid alatrash--it's very old, hence the grainy quality improv--farid alatrash again
balalaika:
monti's csardas with bala and guitar--the csardas is one of my favorite pieces in the universe paganini on balalaika--not sure of the artist--there are some mistakes, but you get an idea of what the instrument is like
more later. =D |

| the balalaika is extremely fun to play but extremely difficult to play correctly. I would be classified as a highly unorthodox player--I don't use my left thumb to hold chords and I use a leather pick, mainly to spare my classical guitar nails.
I wanted to post a video of moscow nights (the song) but all I could find were videos of the group moscow nights. they're a good group, but not what I wanted. I think itunes has a recording of the russian red army orchestra--which includes balalaikas--playing moscow nights. it's really quite pretty. |

| Wow, no one's posted in this thread for a while, but I felt I had to share this video again because it's soo inspiring and uplifting. Uke master Jake Shimabukuro from Hawaii and guitar hero Tommy Emmanuel from Australia just KILLING IT on live TV. Tommy Emmanuel / J.Shimabukuro: While My Guitar Gently Weeps - YouTube
