| Well... ground beef is obviously the big one. I do not put much else into my burgers. Just some garlic, a bit of black pepper, maybe some worchestershire sauce if I am feeling frisky. |

| The sky is really the limit here. When I make burgers, sometimes I just cook the meat. Other times I mix cheeses, onion, pepper, paprika, garlic...whatever else seems good at the time. |

| I like to put a 1/8" slice to virginia cooked ham in the middle of a patty. Oh it's good. Have the deli slice a pound of virginia baked ham into the 1/8" slices, form your burger around the ham slice, grill and enjoy. |

| Onion
Garlic
BBQ sauce
Worchestershire
Bread crumbs
Pepper
Paprika
Cayenne pepper
Dry or wet mustard
Teriyaki sauce
Cheese
Bell peppers
Bacon bits
Mushrooms
There's really no limit to what you can put in a burger.
And, then... after it's all done, there's no limit to what you can put on top.

I LOVE when a burger is stuffed with Bleu Cheese! Get the real stuff, not the dressing. Its SOOOO good! The perfect burger is as follows (IMO): Good homemade wheat bun (toasted on cut side), burger stuffed with a good amount of Bleu Cheese, Bacon, lettuce, tomato. I think that's it. Maybe mayo. |

Also, if you go to the trouble to grind your own meat you can maybe have a nice medium-rare burger. Doneness is a pretty big component of the overall flavor.

I like grinding my own meat and throwing the spices in the meatgrinder whole so that it double grinds with the meat.
Kalamata olives, oregano, feta, and capers make a really nice Greek burger. (all ground into the patties) (serve in a pita, with hummus as an optional condiment)
Grilling Pineapple, mixing terriyaki sauce into the meat, and serving a burger with the teriyaki patties and grilled pineapple on King's Hawaiian rolls is good. (man I miss that one)
You can put Parmesan, Itallian spices, and black olives in, and serve with marinara instead of ketchup on Ciabatta.
Those are just a few I have made.

I like this recipe. It's for turkey burgers, but I'm sure it would work for lean ground beef too. Or you can just use it for ideas (like adding apple).

| the other key is to not use beef leaner than 85% even if you're using eggs. without some fat, they fall apart.
my burger recipe is semi-secret because even when i tell people how to make it they don't come out the same. Hard to explain how to make something with a bit of this and a bit of that, and that it has to "feel" right |
