| I know I'm late to the thread here, but I also just moved to Austin. I think everyone pretty much covered most of the places you should go except for Torchy's Tacos on 1st (there's one further north, but I forget where) and Redbud park, which is a dog park/place where you can go swimming. It has some cliffs you can jump off of and usually a rope swing as well.
And just for kicks I live near 35 and 71

| I'm not going to lie, I'm slightly bitter that I didn't get off work yesterday!
and...so that I don't make a new thread:
if anyone needs something to do next saturday or sunday evening, my church is having our christmas special those days. it's the christmas story set to music...sort of. it's a whole bunch of christmas carols blended together with some additional music thrown in and a worship section in the middle. I think it was written as a musical/living nativity type of thing..? anyways, if you have people around you who are curious about what christians really believe about christmas, it's a good opportunity to invite them and perhaps get a chance to share your faith. if you're interested, pm me and I will give you the details. =)
it should be fun! my church is amazing, my pastor is totally great, and if nothing else, you can come listen to me try to squeak out a first soprano line. (life-long choir alto here. ha.) |

| Snow!!!! Today was so awesome. Too bad my classes weren't canceled, but there were many impromptu snowball fights that made up for it. |

| I was very excited to play in the snow. =D (and..my students did have class cancelled today, so as a result my work was cancelled too.)
I would've posted a couple of pics in the pictures thread, but for some reason my browser is refusing to open the attachments manager. I guess the world will never see the smiley face on my car windshield! |
