I dunno.... the whole situation has reached such a level of absurdity, that it's comical. |

Bret Favre sets another NFL record in his illustrious career, when he announced for the third time that he was retiring from professional football. Immediately sports information networks were debating whether Favre would return next season to break this mark as well, and retire for an unprecendented fourth time!
Stay tuned for further developments as they occur... |

| I think I finally understand what Brett is up to.
Favre is undeniably an NFL legend. Just as Rice will always be remembered with the Niners, Favre will always be remembered as a Packer. The last few years have all been part of an intricate plan to immortalize Favre as truly the greatest Packer to ever play. You remember the first time he decided to retire? Years ago? Yeah, he meant it then. He retired. Everything that has happened since? It has just been a set up for this moment.
The Vikings (the Packer's hated division rival) have a decent team that is one good quarterback away from making a legitimate run at the Super Bowl. They think they've found that in Favre. They are on the precipice of trading Tarvaris Jackson. As soon as Jackson, their starting quarterback, is gone, Favre changes his mind one more time, but this time, he reveals that it was not his age or his arm or his will or anything else that made him decide to retire, he just wanted to stick it to the Vikings one last time all along! Brilliant! |

| Well I watched the game on Friday (Chiefs fan here) and Favre left the game fairly early (as is often done in pre-season). But the last play he was in, he got clocked pretty good. I would'nt be surprised to hear that he's not 100%. Older guys don't bounce back like they once did. Sure would suck for Minnesota to be paying a guaranteed $12,000,000 for someone that might get knocked out of the season early! |
