| Anyone play Fender acoustics? I played a Fender DG-9 today and actually really liked it. It was a normal acoustic so it didn't have the retarded plastic box shoved in the side of it.
I played a couple of the colored ones at Guitar Center and Music6 the other day but didn't like them nearly as much, do they have some good acoustics? |

| I have played some Fender acoustics that weren't bad that were the GA43SCE and GA45SCE models. I've never really been able to get past the necks on the DG series acoustics I've played. They just weren't particularly comfortable to me. |

| I tried out the colored ones too. They all stunk to me.
I'm hoping to find one of the California series (with the Strat headstock) hanging in a store so I can give it a try, but haven't found one yet. I've heard good reviews about those.
I have played some older Fender acoustics that were very nice. I can't remember models though. They were made in the 60's and 70's though (the one's I played). |

| I am the probably one of the biggest Fenderphiles I know. I use Fender Guitars and amps exclusively...with the exception of my acoustic. I think modern Fender acoustics pretty much stink. I do own a '67 Fender Kingman 12 string acoustic. This 12 string is the sweetest sounding acoustic I have ever played. I found it at Emerald City Guitars in Seattle back in 2005. I bought it for $400. I love it. But Fender didn't even build it. Back then Fender contracted the Harmony company to build these acoustics for them. Then Fender would slap their logo on the headstack and call it a "Fender". So bottom line is Fender acoustics suck big time. I think the new Seagull guitars sound great and don't cost that much. Get one of those. |

| First guitar ever was a fender dg-11sb and I still have it....and it still sounds like playing cardboard but after I set it up it plays nice. When I sit in front of a camp fire or out on someones deck playing guitar I generaly don't break out the good ones, and that's when ol' scratch-mark comes out. |

| I've never played an acoustic fender that I've liked personally, but it's almost always about preference. I fell in love with my Alvarez when I discovered it in a pawn shop, but all I hear about from other guitarists (in my social circle) is that Taylor makes "the best" acoustic guitars, but I don't prefer the tone.
If you like the tone, then like it brand shouldn't matter.

| Most fender acoustics ive played were kinda take it or leave it nothing horrible but nothing that really felt great. Im with alpha sigma, im an Alvarez guy, all around solid players and good values. Lots of people like taylor, their ok but not my cup of tea.

| I think the reason I like it is because its so simple. Its pretty much a concert size no cut-away acoustic.
My Visual Arts teacher at school has a Fender acoustic with the strat headstock, Roscoe. |

| I have a cheap DG-7 as a beater that sounds good. I also have a DG20CE that nicely made has fisher eletronics that sounds better plugged in than it does unplugged. Personally, I think it's because it's a cutaway and a set up probably would go a long way to making it sound better but I'm also one of those people who thinks Martins sound like tin. The best sounding and playing acoustic I've played was an 800 dollar Ovation. |

| Not personally, but I have recently been teaching one of my friends how to play guitar, and he has a Fender acoustic. I will agree with mikesr, it does sound better plugged in, as it is a cutaway and doesn't seem to have a complete full sound to it. I still like it though, and I think it's a great guitar for my friend to be learning on. |
