Good Eats

Any Alton Brown fans out there?

Should this be in TV and Movies instead of Food/Cooking?

I also enjoy the Cooking On Asphalt (etc) series. But his talent is wasted on Iron Chef.

Yeah, I forgot about Cooking On Asphalt. One of the places he featured on there is in the small town where my aunt and uncle live. Sherley's Sole Food. Everytime we go to visit them we at least eat their once.

Oh my gosh.... fried food.... Fatback.... salt..... Everything a growing boy needs.

Alton's cookbooks are hilarious. They are half cookbook, half science book, and half comic book (Yes, three halves. This is Alton Brown we're talking about.)

I did not know that. I wonder if she uses any kitchen gadgets in her practice. A meat mallet comes to mind.

Alton is a cool guy, and supposedly a conservative christian at that, which is somewhat unusual in television.

The whole art of cooking + science of cooking + performance art that is good eats is absolutely perfect.

It's the only show I am now watching with any regularity now that i have a room-mate that brought TV back into the house.

Plus cooking his recipes generally turns out quite excellent.

Only because he's behind the scenes. I don't think they need that Kevin whatshisname. Just turn Alton loose on the stadium floor with a camera and a microphone.

Or better yet, let him go up against one of the Iron Chefs sometime... Hey, he couldn't do worse than RR.
