| Ask the Warmoth guy! I don't wanna hijack Crazymoose's thread anymore, so starting a thread about warmoth guitars.
First question, Do you guys do custom shaped bodies? And can you rout for Trisonic pickups? |

| If it is OK with the mods, I don't mind a Warmoth centric thread.
We do custom shaped bodies from time to time. As you might expect, they get a bit more expensive depending on the shape you want. You would need to provide a full size line drawing. We don't do neck through or set neck though, just bolt on. That's the way we have all our tooling and machines set up.
I don't recall ever seeing any Trisonics come through the shop, so I doubt it. It might be possible, but there would be additional costs with the custom routing and you'd need to send us the pickups so we could verify the rout. |

| A universal rout with a pickguard will suffice, I can even dremel the pickguard to fit the pups... They're only slightly fatter than the standard single...
I've been thinking and I can't decide for my next guitar to do a Jag or a Tele build... question about your Jag bodies... can they be chambered? |

| I don't have a problem with their being a Warmoth-centric thread. Heck, I'll even sticky this thing to keep it on the front page. It's not often we have a company representative come on our forum.

| yup, a "pro's corner" is a great idea, especially if the pro in question is with us on a spiritual level AND works for a company we're all interested in!!
who knows, maybe there's even a corporate sponsorship budget...........

I guess a little about me would be appropriate here:
I started my walk in 2000 when the pastor and his wife came to our house to introduce themselves to the neighborhood. They were starting a new church and invited us to come. High Pointe Community Church is our home. (Located in South Hill, WA). I work on the sound team, play in the adult band and have mentored the youth band. I'm also involved with other areas churches and have been a clinician for Christian Musician Summit for several years now. God is good!
Prior to joining Warmoth, I spent almost 20 years in the IT arena as a software developer. Since joining Warmoth, I've been in sales, returns manager, QC guy, and back in IT now. I've built about 10 instruments for myself and others. I have three basses and two guitars; all Warmoth! |

It's not the weight that I care about. I've heard that chambering can add similar sustain/resonance that a hollowbody has, yet not quite as extraordinary, and not have as much feedback. I have a 16 lb guitar that I built, I care not about weight... |

| Also great to see another guy from the area, I'm from Kent, just a little up 167.
Which brings me to a question I've always been curious about; if i bought something from Warmoth, would it have to be shipped, or could i just pick it up? |

| I got a bubinga tele neck from warmoth last year and I'm still absolutely stunned at the great quality of it every time I pick it up. I just picked up an ultra-light strat body (basswood, I think) and I'm shopping for a neck now too, I'll probably go back to warmoth

We've grown so much we no longer have the space for willcall. The build is filled to the brim of stuff and people! |

| Can you guys color match a neck to a body you guys made? Same wood. I just discovered my requirements for a neck for that guitar have sort of changed. |

| Do you have pictures or links to your guitars for those who aren't familiar with them?

Some paints are custom mixes and can vary slightly over time. We wouldn't want to guarantee a match knowing there could/would still be some variation. In the past, we've tried to match colors, but it was still guesswork if you factor in lighting variations, camera settings, monitor settings, etc... from customer photos. And it just isn't practicle to have the customer send their body/neck back in and try to store it safely.
The same goes for laminate tops and peghead veneers. We can match them only if both body and neck are being done at the same time. |

How variant would you guess a peghead would be? I would guess the separation an ebony board would provide a little bit of leeway. |
