I used the term cow specifically because "bull" could be multiple different species, including Moose which was the animal AlphaSigma thought it was in the first place.

Cow basically means "a bovine animal" and it came from the Anglo-Saxons. So technically, yes bulls (used for breeding) are cows, however, in North America cows usually refer to the females, such as dairy cows or heiffers. Steers and Bulls are used to reference male bovines in North America. That's my history lesson for the day.
If you are referring to an entire herd of bovine livestock it is proper to call them cattle.
And sea urchin is disguting beyond belief.
