| Next Anberlin Album? Anybody heard when Anberlin's next album is due? I'm actually kind of hoping it won't be soon, because New Surrender suffered because it was put together too fast.

| Most bands put out albums every two years (like they did before NS), and New Surrender was only made because the label wanted an album quick. So I'm betting on mid-2010 for the next album.
Whatever made NS so weak, I do hope they fix it.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

Hopefully they go the studio when they are done touring for the summer! Oh...and no more rereleasing songs...hopefully. I think they only did it with Feel Good Drag though because it was a strong song that they wanted to get out to the masses via Universal.
"The band revealed that they plan to start writing the follow up to New Surrender in the summer, but the release date is likely to be early 2011, as the band plans to give the new material the time and effort that it needs." From Wikipedia mind you (and apparently from an interview with anberlin).

| Still don't care for Cities that much and I'm certainly not buying New Surrender. But I'd be quite happy if they came back with something awesome. |

| I like them live but to me they just sound over-polished. Like they've taken ALL the grit out of their music. That's why I like them live cause they actually sound like a rock band live. If they fix that in the next album I'll be happy.

Cities is (in my opinion of course) their best album. NTFP only comes a bit close. Quote: |

| I don't know how related it is but someone I know commented on how [Stephen] Christian's happiness gets in the way of his songwriting. New Surrender seemed a lot more "happy" than Cities was, and that's probably my main problem with it.
I have no real idea why they re-recorded Feel Good Drag either, but it was awesome enough to still be good when they made another inferior version themselves.

| Really?
I still don't have cities, but love Lost Songs and New Surrender as well. I can't wait.

Godspeed, A Whisper and A Clamor, The Unwinding Cable Car, and (*Fin) are all amazing songs. New Surrender has a few good ones as well, The Resistance and the last track are the two strongest.
