| I want to know why white is always on the bottom.

The letters at the bottom would go h - a from left to right, and the numbers would be reversed also. There's not really an ineffable rule declaring that the chess board must be presented that way, it just generally is for simplicity's sake. |

| It would be pretty much impossible to do PBP* with Scrabble. It just doesn't lend itself well to the format. How are you supposed to know what tiles you have?
