Maybe my insomnia is a result of vitamin deficiency? Are multi-vitamins usually a good way to make sure you are up to par as far as vitamins go because I would have no clue where to start looking for errs in my diet vitamin-wise.

I am not going to go there... It is too close to medical advice... I would ask your doctor. I don't know, I would imagine a good multivitamin would not hurt. Mine was. But Only after I started a weird diet.

Yeah I understand. I just saw you mention something about not being able to sleep because of a vitamin imbalance and thought I would inquire.

I checked with my GI, and it did sound like a B deficiency in the context of my recent dietary change, (which was medically neccesarry) so for me, yes, it was. I can't say any further... Now if you were say, someone who had just had to go gluten free, or quit eating breads and whole grains, my experience might be more analogous.

Its really rather obscure, but I think it serves the point that if you remove a category from your diet, you might need to find out if you are missing something important.

I've never met a vegetarian with an eating disorder or who looked sick.

You'd be surprised at how many foods will give you protein & iron.
I do take a B supplement, but honestly not daily or even weekly...& I'm definitely not mal-nourished.

People seem to forget that you need to watch what you eat even when you're not vegetarian. Nobody worries about clogged arteries & heart attacks, but if you stop eating meat THEN you'll get sick.
Eat wisely, use common sense. You don't have to be a health nut.
If you had a poor diet before don't just remove the meat and keep eating the same way (i.e. going from an In n' Out burger & fries everday to a In n' Out Grilled Cheese & Fries everyday).

Vegetables are tasty, really.
Beans & Rice are your best friends.

They sure are. I've been having salads more often in my dinner meals. I think I may have notice a change in my face and my weight after including them as a part of my diet.

Rice is the best side dish, imo.

Vegetarians don't have a disorder, they choose to be vegetarian, usually because they are against eating once alive animals or because of something cultural. Or they just don't like it. I'm sure its possible to have a disorder where you can't eat certain meats causing you to be vegetarian..but i normally don't find that to be the case...

i love beans!

I'd have to see the friends in question, because most of my vegetarian friends (I'm vegetarian) are quite healthy.

Honestly, people talk so much about "the things missing from a vegetarian diet that a veg will have to be careful not to miss" that they forget about all the things missing from the diet of the average carnivore. Meat in moderation, people, if you're going to bother with it at all!

After all, literal creationists have a beef with the idea that God would tweak His creation. But the Bible makes it clear that until Noah, man wasn't granted to eat meat. But our teeth, if taken to be designed to rip and tear (I'm not convinced; a good line of reasoning connects our teeth to herbivores), were either grafted onto our DNA after Eden or (given God's special statement "Now you can eat meat") after Noah. So, God tweaked His creation, making literal creationism embody one of the criticisms it has against evolution.

Or, perhaps God designed our teeth with meat in mind, knowing that we'd fail in the Garden. That raises some questions about God creating us with the specific knowledge that He'd fail. It also brings into question His anthropomorphism in the Garden where He questions Adam. If He created mankind knowing we'd fail and even designed our bodies to need meat (which begs the question of how Adam and Eve, and everyone faithful until Noah was given charter to eat meat, survived on their vegetarian diet), then why did He act surprise and question Noah? Unless there are parts of Scripture referring to God that aren't meant to be taken literally...so once again, literal creationism could be undermined if one asserts that we were designed to eat meat.

I think we've adapted quite well to being omnivorous.
