| I hear ya, Daniel, but if we're in an era where people can watch depictions of brutal violence and dismiss any pang of negative emotion, then come, Emmanuel, come.
"The time would be easy to know, for then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones; free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and revelling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom." - H.P. Lovecraft

Admittedly, there wasn't a whole lot of that emotion, but a possible reason for that would be because her character really didn't get much exposure or development, so it wasn't as easy to connect with her as it was for me to connect with the main characters, because we got to learn about them and connect with them on an emotional level.

The point of a movie is to give the audience a view into another reality, one stitched from imagined elements.
If you don't relate to the characters you watch, then what's the point of watching the movie? Simply to appreciate effects? That's like going to theater just to admire the lighting. | Well to say that I didn't connect with the characters would be absurd. To say that I didn't connect with the characters shown in the opening credits that had say fifteen seconds of screen time would be accurate though. The intro was very stylized in my opinion, so it was supposed to look cool. Which means to me that it makes perfect sense for me to watch it and think about how they did a good job rather than feel some major emotional connection with this character.

And to the people saying that this is one of the best Zombie-comedies ever - what other zombie-comedies are there apart from this and Shaun of the Dead (which I loved, by the way)? |

#66 | | !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Anyone who doesn't believe that zombies and comedy exist together have probably watched few zombie movies. Even the benchmarks of the genre, from Dawn of the Dead (1976) to Return of the Living Dead, are filled with comedy.

| You guys ought to like this.
From the looks of things and from what I've heard, we could be seeing at least a couple more sequels to Zombieland in the near future. Apparently, the writers originally intended to tell the story as a TV series before they decided to make it a film, so when that happened, they were left with about 23 or so episodes worth of scripts, so it sounds as though we could see at least several sequels if they decide to go for it. Plus, the four main actors have all said they are definitely game for a couple of sequels (with Emma Stone saying that she'd gladly do as many as she possibly could). That really excites me, so long as they can keep the stories, situations, and characters fun and engaging.

I think it would be no problem keeping it fresh...its a zombiecom, there are countless directions to take it. |

| That sounds awesome. We get a couple more films that are almost as good as this, and it doesn't become as repetitive/predictable as sitcoms can be.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

That would be sad. | That's always a concern, but in this situation, we aren't talking about a group of writers coming off a one-time successful movie and then trying to come up with a brand new story in order to get more success. They had already planned out a full season or two of episodes about the story. The fact that they already had a long-term story in mind, and are taking scripts from that story and turning them into films gives me hope that following sequels hould be on that same level of quality.

How many episodes do you think they used to make the movie? Two? Three? A full season?

So that leaves probably a good 12 episodes probably? So three movies? Trust me, I'm in calculus, haha. Except I have a low C, so take it or leave it! |
