well yeah like u said worship should be about your motives and who your playing for and not how the band sounds but i do understand the want to become better. the band needs to remember that they need to be worshiping god together as a group that is what the band is there for and also what the church is so if he doesnt understand why he has the stop doing what hes doing you should expalin to him that whatever fixes you are making is all in for the glory of the lord but if he know he needs to change but doesnt then i suggest you let him go because from what i read he is stopping you from fully giving up to the lord because you are to focused on him needing to change.

prayer is a useful tool as well. I'm not sure if someone has mentioned that one yet.

Skeeter,

You used the same strumming pattern for every song, or just the same pattern through the song on every song? Minus bridges or building the song up I sometimes use the same pattern through a song, definitely not on every song.

I was just learning the guitar and used the same strumming pattern for every song. It was bad.

Oh haha, well it was better then me! When I first started I made up my own rhythms to songs, because I couldn't sing or sing and play and never had the opportunity to play with others so I didn't realize rhythm fit to lyrics vice versa.. All worked out when I joined worship team :P
