the "other" finer thing (slide)

so apparently there is a thread general discussion entitled "The Finer Things" which talks about alcohol and tobacco.... so i figured that since i don't smoke or drink i would start a thread of the "other" finer things... slide guitar

Bottleneck with a Dobro, Glass with a Lap Steel, Bone on acoustic, brass on electric, there are so many different tastes and styles, each one as individual as the guitarist playing.
So hows about we share a bit about our slippery side. Lets talk tunings, setup, style, influences, favorite slide tunes all that jazz.... or maybe i should say blues?

Eh...I have a washburn guitar that I dedicate to Open E tuning. Also...I have a jetslide. It's basically a strip of metal (as long as my ring finger) that has a ring shaped on the bottom of the slide. On the metal strip itself is a little lip that I can pull my pinkie over and run parallel with the neck. When I don't want to use the slide, I use my pinkie to push it away and play chords or scale runs, etc. It is really handy...check it out.
