Free .pdf editor for Mac

Need to edit some .pdfs, anyone know of a free editing program?
I have tried Scribus and Skim, the former which does not directly edit .pdfs but makes layouts which can be saved as .pdfs. Glitchy. Skim is just for note-taking on .pdf documents-- handy, but not what I need.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Josiah

So yeah. No go.

Anyway, I was able to weasel MS Word into meeting my needs... Pesky tables are more trouble than they are worth.

OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

Fairly certain that exports to PDF.

I have NeoOffice for Mac, which runs on OpenOffice, and I just tested to make sure. I opened a pdf downloaded from the internet, edited it, and exported it as a pdf. Nice and simple.
