Essential Skillet songs we should know.

I only know Those Nights. I'm getting into Skillet now, so what songs should I listen to?

The lack of replies indicates that no one listens to Skillet anymore... listen to anything that`s NOT on Comatose. If you listen to only one song at a time off Comatose, it sounds alright, but when you listen to them all together you realize what a ripoff of every rock album ever made this album is. Yours To Hold is the best off of it. Open Wounds and Savior are the best Skillet songs ever.

Monster is a good easy song to learn if you're just getting introduced to Skillet.

Comatose is stuff you should learn when you're picking up.

Learning Collide is when you're a complete panhead. (In the good way!)

Favorite songs on Collide for me are My Obsession and Savior.

Keep in mind I started listening to Skillet when their first CD came out roughly 13 years ago. So I'm biased towards their older stuff in ways you probably won't be.

Comatose Comes Alive
Yours to Hold (this version is as good or better than the studio version)

Comatose
Rebirthing
Yours to Hold
Those Nights
The Older I Get
Say Goodbye

Collide
Forsaken
Savior
Under My Skin
Open Wounds

Alien Youth
You are My Hope
You're the One Real Thing
Will You Be There

Ardent Worship
How Deep the Fathers Love For Us

Invincible
Best Kept Secret
Rest

Hey You I Love Your Soul
Hey You I Love Your Soul
Deeper
Locked in a Cage
More Faithful
Coming Down
Whirlwind
Scarecrow

Skillet
I Can
Saturn
My Beautiful Robe
Paint
You Thought
Boundaries
Splinter

There are no replies because it's in an individual artist forum. They're all low traffic. So it's difficult to find the interesting threads in here.

And there other albums are highly original and not derivative?

What? Can you elaborate?

Granted, the album is obviously not the most original album out there, but it never claimed to be. They've always been after a mainstream audience. But Comatose didn't immediately remind me of any other artists. It was mainstream rock done Skillet style.

I'd add whispers in the dark.

I actually think Alien Youth is extremely underrated, unless you hate industrial rock to death, it's a really good album.

Anyway, the only Skillet albums I recommend are Alien Youth, Collide, and Comatose, so here's my most recommended songs off each of those albums.

Alien Youth:

Alien Youth (song)

Vapor

Kill Me, Heal Me

Stronger

Rippin' Me Off

Collide:

Forsaken

Savior

Open Wounds

My Obsession

Fingernails

Comatose:

Rebirthing

The Last Night

The Older I Get

Whispers In The Dark

Live Free Or Let Me Die (It's only on the deluxe edition, but it's totally worth it.)

Some of the stuff on Awake, which is their newest album can be enjoyable, but compared to the three albums above, it's pretty bad.
