| FT: B-52 AT100 Head I'm getting out of extreme metal, and I need an amp tone this high gain beast just can't provide. It excels in its distortion channels, but leaves much to be desired in the way of clean/crunch for my taste. I'm not looking to sell it unless the offer is enough to cover a new or used amp that will suit my needs. And I'm not willing to trade for things that aren't amp heads (I have a spectacular orange 4x12 cab that will just go to waste without one). I need something with better crunch and moderate drive, but can still belt out the distortion when needed. Something... marshally. Perhaps a marshall? Maybe an orange? Blackheart? Who knows. All tube only. I don't like to work with modeling, solid state, or hybrid amps. Wattage totally doesn't matter, though something with around 30 watts would be ideal. I just want something that will sound good at both practice and show volumes.
If you've got a potential trade, let me know in this thread or through PM.
I can't get a picture right now because the head is in my car. I'll bring it up and photograph it later or something. The amp works perfectly. You'll be getting the stock power tubes it came with, along with two JJ 6L6GC's already in the amp (I've been running it at half power). The preamp section is all JJ 12AX7's except for the reverb tube which is a JJ 12AY7. There are two stickers on the front of the amp. One is a depiction of a red circle with a line through the words "Mean People," and the other says "Ubuntu: Linux for human beings." The stickers are awesome enough to improve the value of the amp. It also has my fingerprints all over the thing, so its bound to be worth a lot one day. You'll also get the original footswitch with some handy velcro at the bottom for all your pedalboard needs. At the moment, I don't believe the reverb works, but its probably because I have the wires backwards. Its really really easy to switch the wires and test it, but I personally can't test that as I'm moving in a week and a half, all my gear is in my car, and I don't want to bring it all upstairs, set it up, and move it down again (two person job).
Bottom line: if you play extreme metal, this is a great amp. If you don't, this is still a great amp. Just doesn't do what I need it to anymore, so if you have something that might and want to make a trade, HIT ME UP SUCKA! |
