| Supreme Court Rises So am I the only person who is bothered by the fact that the Supreme court won't be working for the next 2 or 3 months? Should they have to work year round like almost every other working American? I think so. Taking a 1 or 2 week break so they can enjoy vacation with their families is one thing, but a long break is not right in my book. I feel the same way about congress (granted, Congressmen need time to go back and meet with their constituents). |

| I'd like to see the same sort of attendance policy that the old Target I worked at has, applied to our government officials. Meaning, if you don't show up for work for three days straight, it's considered voluntary resignation. I think we'd get a lot more done that way.

Many take this time to do pro bono work, make appearances at forums and groups and even study potential upcoming cases that may appear before the court.
Personally I would prefer that teh fed go back to the old ways- meet about 4 months of the year and then spend the rest of the time back home with the folks their legislations afffect. |

Yet as Nolidad noted, our justices do things during their break. I think there are much bigger issues facing our nation than whether the Supreme Court ought to take a break of several months during its annual service. I'd pay more attention to their ruling, and the problem of these so-called conservatives on the bench consistently voting against freedom.

And what issues are pressing the Supreme Court? Many times cases are sent up- reviewed by a single judge and sent back down to the lower courts. The Supreme Court is suppossed to be the court of last resort and then when only constitutional issues are at hand. They are not a criminal court or civil coourt- they are there to deal with issues of constitutionality the lower courts copuldn't and then only if the court itself sees an issue that needs addressing. |

| I'd like to see the congress do less. And I'd like the supreme court to do more in the lines of striking down laws that are unconst, or curb powers that were not granted by the const. Yea, the end result needs to be less govt.
