My bad: I apologize.

"Up to a year" does not = grandfathering. That's a blink of an eye.
Policies are written on a year-to-year basis (typically). The grandfathering clause means that new policies can go into place on the same schedule rather than everyone having to change Jan 1.

For almost all policies: it amounts to "old policies still count, but new ones must meet standards"/ For the few that might be more than a year long (never seen one, but they may exist), they would have to modify by the end of the year (if they are out of compliance).

What happens if the gov't determines a plan is not valid?
Same thing that happens now if your car insurance fails to meet the minimum requirements: it doesn't count. So minimally you'd be considered "uninsured".

It's this kind of double speak that most frightens me about gov't legislation. Clear (transparent) as mud.
Legaleese is a pain.

QUOTE=JerryLove;3434915]Yes. You used one CBO and dismissed the other. That's hypocrisy. Your calling me a name-caller doesn't change that fact.
Well having gone through the whole thread I did find you used the $1,800 figure but didn't attribute it to teh CBO- then called me a hypocrite when I was unaware (because you didn't cite the CBO) for accepting one of their figures and rejecting another I wasn't even aware was theirs, Yeah you just love throwing out names.

Which federal employees are you thinking of? Federal healthcare (the federal plan available to federal workers) is consistently rated "above average for the US"

Odd you cited no statistics
.

Check vet care. Check postal workers injured on the jopb waiting months and years for surgery.

Interesting you glossed over the presence of private Medicare and Medicaid.

Telling that you failed to mention that the public plans consistently rate higher than the private ones.
Are you referring to medigap policies? medicare and medicaid are govt. plans. and yes when you have medicare or medicaid coverage and have a medigap policy- you can run into a battle between the govt. and thew private insurer.

Try making an argument and supporting it. It's a lot more effective (at least with valid arguments) than a mix of unsupported claims, hypocritical dismissal of your own sources, and links to other peoples arguments (for my rebuttal, google supporters of Obama's plan.
Well until the Pelosi, Reid, Obama cabal passes Obama social care- all we have is news, talking heads, (now we have the actual house and senate miscarriages onteh internet to weep over.)

Another CBO claim-- under Obama care as many as 88,000,000 people will be forced out of their present plans into Obamacare-- so much for his guarrentee to keep your coverage if you want it. I am just stunned that even though as liberal as you are you can even implicitly endorse this miscarriage and assault on the American Health Industry.

Not true under Comrade Obamas helath plan (now in print in house and senate versions) as soon as anything changes under your current health plan like , dedutucbles or copays- it will be required to meet all federal standards- or you will be fined an amount equal to bring it up to standard.

And if you r plan does not meet standards- you will not be unisured- you will be enrolled in to the govt. plan.

And don't forget the 32 or more new medi-czars that will be created with their deptsd. to determine what you will be forced to accept like it or not.

noli,

I've already established, again, that you simply lie. With unequivical, non-subjective facts: you ignore reality and make stuff up. You are worse with the subjective.

There's no point discussing with someone so dishonest.

Well at least I back up my lies with support. I am leaving th is thread and sticking with the other thread on Comrade Obamas and Commisars Pelosi and Reid's health takeover. I don't have the tiome nor energy to show you falsely accusing me on 2 threads.

BTW Is that how you respond to links showing I speak truth by just screaming "liar liar pants on fire????"

No. It's how I respond to you repeating the exact lie I already showed was a lie by citing (that exact part) of the bill from the official site.

But yes, please leave. I'd enjoy getting back to an honest discussion of the topic.
