| Good web browser for Macs? I need to know what a good web browser would be to use on my macbook. Right now I use Firefox and it crashes about 15 times a day. Or more. It is so annoying! Any suggestions? I don't really like Safari either. |

My sister was running into problems with Firefox on her Mac, and checking her version, I found that her Firefox was terribly out of date. It should at least be version 3.

uninstall it altogether and reinstall it. occasionally I have had firefox updates not work so well and go into crashing. I am of the suspicion that it may be your installation, rather than firefox itself that is the problem. I know on my wife's install that was the case a few months ago, and if I hadn't had this happen on several os's previously I wouldn't mention it. |

| I use Firefox on my MacBook with no problems, I'd try the uninstall/reinstall before a different browser. That's just me, though, if it's really pissing you off I can understand trying something different.

I guess I'll try reinstalling it. Would that delete all my bookmarks and everything? |

You need to export them before you uninstall:
Open Firefox. Go to Bookmarks and choose Manage Bookmarks.
2. Go to File and choose Export.
3. Under Save as, type a name such as bookmarks.html. Make sureyou save it as an .html file.
4. Under Where, select the location in which you wish to save your bookmarks.
5. Click on Save.
6. You have successfully exported your bookmarks.
To reimport them:
1. Open Firefox. Go to Bookmarks and choose Manage Bookmarks.
2. Go to File and choose Import.
3. Find and select your bookmarks backup and click Save.
4. You have now successfully imported your bookmarks.

set that up, it can sync your cookies, history, bookmarks, etc... you can tell it not to sync passwords, or whatever you don't want it to.
it should keep your profile, although I'm not familiar with macintosh install/un-install so I'm not sure. |
