| summer homework sucks! So i'm enrolled a lot of AP classes next year, and it sucks doing summer homework. I was working on my government hw just now and i barely finished a packet, and still have all this other crap to do.
And for english I have to memorize almost 150 words (definition and example) by the time the year starts. I haven't even looked at that yet. Been too occupied with government! How do you juggle it all |

We've all got ideas. We are the music makers. We make money to buy things, and write down words.

| haha whatever!
Yeah if teachers feel bad about it then do they just keep assigning it to be a pain, or is it mandatory?
Because I didn't get any hw in my physics class.... |

| It really depends on the course. In history, English and government courses it's pretty much impossible to complete all of the material that needs to be covered without giving assignments for the summer preceding that school year.

| For myself, my boss makes me give out homework. For some of the kids (the SAT students, namely) it's absolutely necessary that they do their homework if they want to get better.
In high school, I would imagine that some teachers give out summer homework because they want you guys not to forget, or because they want to hit the ground running next year. Or to weed out students who are not ready for the class. I would say in an AP class, summer homework is pretty much a necessity.
Doesn't change the fact that it's not fun!
If it makes you feel better, I'll be spending the summer with my old statistics books trying to remember enough to start my master's degree in the fall...

| I feel your pain. Half of my classes next year are AP courses. Then I also have a college medicine course at the local hospital. |
