| Some of my 2009 favorite listens:
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster - III (grows on me with each listen)
Halestorm - Halestorm (guilty indulgence, but some of the songs are well written)
Dream Theater - Black Clouds and Silver Lining (well, really only the first track)
Megadeth - Endgame
God Forbid - Earthsblood
Bury Your Dead - It's Nothing Personal
Biggest disappointments of 2009:
Chevelle - Sci Fi Crimes (been there, done that like a bazillion times)
Killswitch Engage - Killswitch Engage (has it all been downhill since End of Heartache?)
Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted (man, her first album was great, what happened!?) |

I cannot stop listening to that album, I can't stop. It matches their previous album, Dead FM but with a more aggressive and diverse sound, yet remaining 100% true to their signature sound. They didn't compromise.

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

| I thought end of heartache was pretty good, though they'd be hard pressed to come up with something as landmark as AOJB. and they haven't even come close lately |

#98 | | !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | That Phoenix album is pretty great. I am glad to see them getting so popular instead of being "that band that had a song in Lost in Translation"

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| I agree with the two posts above me...Mos Def and Phoenix put out great albums this year. I didn't think I'd be saying this, but after many repeat listens, I really think Japandroids Post Nothing is a contender. Maybe not THE best, but definitely among them. |
