Different strokes for different folks I guess. Personally, I think they're one of the more creative pop bands in a long time.

Hly crap, Glassjaw is still around?!
I already knew this was going to be an incredible year for music, but with Brand New as well, this is just gonna be nuts.
These are the ones I am still looking forward to this year . . .
Anti-Flag - The People or The Gun (I know, its out but I haven't picked it up yet)
Strike Anywhere - Iron Front
Dead To Me - African Elephants (I think that is what they were planning on calling it)
Social Distortion
Mike Ness
and now Brand New
Take It Back - Rumors of Revolt EP
Comeback Kid

Question: Since this is in secular music does the topic only apply to secular bands, or may christian artists be included?

I don't think it's a big deal, I wouldn't worry about it. People mention christian bands in here all the time, and vice versa.

Technically, it's for secular music. Nobody's going to raise a ruckus if you mention a Christian artist once in awhile... sometimes there's some grey area. Just don't bombard us with fourteen albums by... well, CCM bands.

I love new Mew, but so far this year is taken by Regina Spektor for me.
Dylans latest was fairly good as well.

I am fully expecting my album of the year to go to Monsters of Folk, though.

Mew - No More Stories / Are Told Today / I'm Sorry / They Washed Away // No More Stories / The World Is Grey / I'm Tired / Let's Wash Away

No joke, that's the title of the album. It leaked. On a couple listens, I think it will probably be in my top albums of the year. (don't worry, I fully intend to buy it on release day)

Man, I seriously wish Dylan would just stop. He is obviously going to win Rolling Stone's album of the year any year he releases a new album regardless of its quality.

I fully believe he hasn't done much of anything good since before Slow Train Coming.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

The new tdwp cd is amazing. Not sure if Mike's screams are as good as his 'Plagues' days, but it's still awesum.

I love "Ben Has A Kid" off the new Prada album. The songs translate great live too.
New Mew is awesome and agreed about the new Regina being super good.
