| It's a bit inconsistent but the first song and a few others are up there with anything they've ever done. |

But I still think it should be up for album of the year

| I'm going to throw Defeater's album "Travels" out there as the best hardcore album in a while.

| The new Dirty Projectors album, Bitte Orca has been one of the few albums of 2009 to totally warrant the hype, in my opinion. I love it. |

I think the album I'm really starting to look forward to now is the new Mew coming out soon. The single they released from it is incredibly good. |

| New Mew? I had no idea and am now excited.
I think Veckatimest is a bore.

I've listened to Yellow House and Vecktimast several times each and nothing has ever become memorable or gripping. They're one of those bands I fail to get into and keep excusing as poor listening jobs but I try again with fresh and open ears and experience the same result.
