It's a bit inconsistent but the first song and a few others are up there with anything they've ever done.

That's the thing that has weirded me out with this album. I think this album is just awesome in general, but as far far as a Mewithoutyou album goes . . . I want to hear some hollaring.

But I still think it should be up for album of the year

I'm going to throw Defeater's album "Travels" out there as the best hardcore album in a while.

Myspace.com/defeater

You can stream a few songs with lyric on youtube as well. Amazing band.

The new Dirty Projectors album, Bitte Orca has been one of the few albums of 2009 to totally warrant the hype, in my opinion. I love it.

Totally agree. Personally I think Veckatimest does as well. It definitely got a lot of hype too.

I think the album I'm really starting to look forward to now is the new Mew coming out soon. The single they released from it is incredibly good.

New Mew? I had no idea and am now excited.

I think Veckatimest is a bore.

You WOULD.

Did you like any of their previous albums? Personally, I love their progression as a band. Each successive album, I like them more.

Nope. Horn of Plenty was their first. Yellow House second. Veckatimest third.

Haha, not really. I've listened to Yellow House and Vecktimast several times each and nothing has ever become memorable or gripping. They're one of those bands I fail to get into and keep excusing as poor listening jobs but I try again with fresh and open ears and experience the same result.
