| I'm a big Weird Al fan. A lot of people just don't understand either his music, or someone who likes it. I get some flack from people about it (especially family) but it doesn't bother me. It's just part of my uniqueness. |

Been there. It does hurt, because in a lot of ways you can't help but like the music you like. It does get better, though. You will start to like bands that aren't as much fun to make fun of, and you'll get better at ignoring people who mock the bands you do like. Unfortunately, I think it's just one of those things that takes a little while. |

| I have not heard many of their songs, but from what I have heard, here are my observations:
-Their music and lyrics are shallow, repetitive and not complex in any way. No deeper meaning in the songs, no demonstration of musical talent and to be honest no passion.
- I have also seen clips of them live on different TV shows and to be honest, they are pitchy and outright bad live, showing that their music is all studio tweaking to make it perfect.
Yet still millions of fans of all ages scramble all over them... It blows my mind to be perfectly honest. But just because I don't like their sound doesn't make it bad, I guess.

| Do you know what has brown hair, is bleeding and lying on the floor?
When I was in High School, my wife used that line on a few people who wouldn't quit with the blond jokes. I'd really reccomend just relaxing. If all people make fun of you for is a societally prized hair color, and your taste in music, life is not too bad.

#38 | | Registered User | where I live is insanely different, almost NOBODY makes fun of the Jonas Brothers (minus me and a couple of my friends) and nobody gets made fun of for listening to them
I however, get made fun of for listening to U2, and R.E.M. haha.
Really though, I'll echo the corporate machine argument, and the fact that the music isn't really as good as it's made out to be. |

| What kind of loser listens to R.E.M.? *raises hand*
You know, I get teased for listening to Justin Timberlake. Has that stopped me from listening to him? Heck no! Who freaken cares?
The Jonas Brothers ARE terrible but if you like them, then good for you!

| I like their music.
But, I think it's the same reason why people are hatin' on Hannah Montana, because they all our disney channel stars and some people just can't stand the disney channel.
