No. You need to finish what you've started. It'll happen.

You're making progress. Don't give up. I suspect you're now starting to get a glimpse of just what is required in terms of committment if you want to learn an instrument.

In time this will all become easier, and you won't struggle so much to learn a new song. For now, though, it's going to take some work. Hang in there.

You're getting a lot closer, you're nearly there. You just fell off from the metronome once or twice (though you managed to get back on). Take a listen, do you see where I mean?

Much, much better!

Keep it up!

As moose says, you only got off beat a couple of times. Stick with it. Once you can consistently play it cleanly, then (and only then) increase the tempo a bit.

Do yourself a favor. Go back and listen the the very first recording you made of the song, then listen to this recording. Notice how much progress you've made? You should find it encouraging. A few weeks ago you said you couldn't learn to play someone else's song, but here you are doing it.

Cheer up! You're improving!

Yep, you're getting it.

I'd practice the D-to-G transition more, and then move on to really sharpening up your timing. Remember, the goal is not to play faster, the goal is to play more smoothly.

Okay I worked on that the problem I have now is I go in to this instinct mode where I will play the thing in the song over aging with out knowing I am (as you hear at the end)
and btw i am 400 and something aging

Closer, but I still think it would help you a LOT to keep on track if you counted out loud.

^Yes, or at least like head bang or stomp your foot or something. Something to help you focus on that beat.

I'm really glad to see you're working at this now btw. I can tell you've buckled down and got to work, and you're definitely improving. Good job!

Genre? From what I've heard, I'd call them pop/rock. But that's just me.

Speaking of your songs, in the first one... what the heck notes are you playing in the "chord" at 0:38-0:39... and again at 0:44.... and again at 0:49-0:50... and again at about 0:56? It just sounds...... not normal.
