New used amp!

I just picked up a Peavey Mk III Series 300 CHS bass head for $90 offa Craigslist. I took my Ashdown Mag Deep 2x10 in to test it and the guy played his Ric through it, and I thought it sounded pretty darn good. $90 seemed like a darn good price. I have read pretty good stuff about these online. This is older, I think, but I can't find a year on it. I think I got a deal. The gain pots were a little scratchy... I put a little contact cleaner through em. Quiet as a mouse...

I am pretty happy with my rig, really. I have an Ashdown EB 180-15" combo and I add the 2x10 extension. I have never played anywhere that that was not enough, and I really like the sound. But I was thinking the other day: I always have a spare bass at gigs, spare cables... Probably oughtta have a spare amp... If the "head" in my combo goes out, I can hook the 15" in the combo and the 2x10 up to the Peavey... Seemed like a good idea, anyhow...

"Basses do not "gently weep"... they will rattle the walls, lay the foundation, soothe the body and the mind, or bellow in fury as they strike you down with a bat'leth, but they do not "gently weep"..."
