Would it have been illegal to have made a backup copy of the game incase you had lost it originally?

Some people who are really serious about pirating might say yes, but I say definetly say no, especially because you have already bought the game originally. Besides, its not like Microsoft is making any money off this game nowadays anyways.

Very sticky situation. I wouldn't be comfortable with getting it via torrent.

Depends where you live. In Australia, even if you own it, it's illegal to have backups.

I would think anywhere else should be okay, so long as you use your CD key.

If you're really that unsure about it, I'm sure you can find it cheap on something like Amazon/Ebay.

Is it illegal? Probably.

Is it unethical? No.

I'd say go ahead and torrent it. I torrent music all the time after I buy it from Itunes, just to get better quality.

So you buy music from itunes then torrent the file, or you just torrent?

I buy it, then I torrent it if I'm not happy with the quality.

I see, I've never noticed anything overly wrong with the quality of songs that I download on itunes. What don't you like about itunes songs?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's too low for him.

I honestly don't see whats that bad about torrenting. Its illegal, but a record company would only ever sue you if you have a lot of money. If torrenting were legal (which it partially is with limewire..which I don't really get) does that mean that more people would do it? I don't torrent frequently, mainly due to the risks of viruses; but I guess you could say every so often I have a friend burn a CD for me or something like that.

I know you made this thread like a month ago, but I still don't feel like theres anything wrong with you torrenting it.

Torrenting is not illegal. Torrenting copyrighted material is.

We do not advocate anything illegal on this website, and we do not allow members to either.
