I guess you could argue that my choice of the word "hurt" was the wrong choice. It wasn't damaging to their reputation as a school that is capable of putting together good sports teams (which is something many schools can't say for themselves). I don't know what word to use instead, though...so I'll leave it at that. |
The word you are looking for is pathetic. And yes, losing a game by that margin is pathetic. It really only hurts the baseball team, and is embarrassing for Ohio State to be sure, but I highly doubt at the end of the month, many people will remember it or care about it. Had it affected their basketball/football legacy, then it would be a much bigger deal.
