I'm very glad that they aren't making a fourth one, because they wrapped up the characters' journeys and arcs perfectly with this that it seems (at least to me) like there is nowhere else to go.

Also, I have to say that the short in front of this one ("Night And Day") has to be my least favourite Pixar short of all time.

Finally saw this last night, and goodness, it was worth the wait. Toy Story 3 is the rarest of sights in the cinema world- a second sequel that fires on every single cylinder. Too be honest, I went in not exactly sure what to expect, but I walked out of the theater completely satisfied. I would definitely say TS3 is in the running to be included among the top ranks of Pixar's filmography (though this thread suggests such a list is currently in dispute ).

It was well written, laugh out loud funny, surprisningly moving, etc. What everybody else has said about it, basically. And the ending was incredible. It was the perfect finale for what's been a really great film franchise. So if somebody even breathes a rumor about a Toy Story 4, I'll personally drive out to California and pelt the sides of Pixar's studios with water balloons.

Ugh..........I really didn't like it as well. Better than nothing, but based on what Pixar has done before with their shorts before the film, it was really disappointing.

Why is everyone hating on "Day & Night"? I thought it was great. It was cute, funny, had escalating conflict, and a heartwarming resolution. What's wrong with that?

I don't get all the hate either. It wasn't their best short ever, but I thought it was a cool concept.

It was decent enough, I think. Not as good as Presto! or For the Birds, but not too bad. It will definitely lose something seeing it on TV without 3D when the movie comes out on DVD.

Actually, to those who did not like it, did you see it in 3D? I did, and it made the animation and concept much cooler and more interesting than it would have been flat. Every member of my family younger than I am agreed with me walking out of the theater, as I recall, several of them saying that it was okay in 3D, but would have been horribly boring without it.

As the mother of a college student, I just want to say that it was the saddest movie I've ever seen. Great movie, but way too real for a mom.

Finally got to see it Saturday night.

Fantastic movie from top to bottom. That ending got me. Reminded me of when I left for college and all that stuff. It really feels to me like all the other movies they made were built so they could have the right tech to make Toy Story 3 properly. Maybe that was just me.

I really liked that the little girl had a Totoro doll. Nice nod to Miyazaki.

Really enjoyed the short as well. It was pretty unique blending the 2D and 3D that way. I didn't watch it in 3D (because I refuse to support wearing glasses other than my own so I can see properly), but I'd imagine they used the 3D to add depth to the scenes happening on the characters, yes?

And lastly, the action scene at the beginning realllllly made me want them do The Incredibles 2.

Yes, exactly. The 3-D played with the perspective enough to make the short's animation pop out.

And, I pray to God they make an Incredibles 2. I don't really care what it's about, but the recent rash of superhero movies should give them plenty of gag material.

I finally saw this last weekend. It's an excellent movie. I enjoyed it more than the previous two. It's highly impressive that Pixar can churn out things of this quality on a regular basis. I like how they didn't spare the intensity even though the primary audience is composed of children. Kids are more resilient than we think and we shouldn't patronize them.
