Master Shredder's new Home!

Joel & I are in the process of building our Bearded Dragon a new vivarium.
He's three years old & he's been in a 65 gallon for quite some time....I think it's a bit small for him now, and he just seems a bit bored.

First photo, 10th (or so) step. Haha.
Shredder's New Viv. Part 10.5

We ripped up an old dresser, replaced the bottom & the back and built some shelving as well.
The left side is tiled with slate, and the other is plastered into a bowl shape for sand.
Rock formations are all made of foam and plaster.
I just finished painting it all with a Zero VOC primer. The walls/bowl/rocks will then be painted with a zero/low VOC red sand colored paint mixed with a bit of sand for texture.
Left side is the cool/feeding area. Right side is the basking area.

I will post more photos as we work.

If you have any photos of your pets enclosures, feel free to post them here.

Part 12 or so...

Shred's New Viv Pt. 13

Painted three coats with low VOC paint. Third coat was mixed with clean sifted sand from Shredder's (now) tank to give texture.
Finished grouting tiles & painted grout.

If I may ask, how is he going to get from side to side, it looks kinda high and a touch slippery even with some sand. Are you putting rocks or "furniture" in?

All the "furniture" will be moved in from the tank where he now resides. I can't switch it until we move him...
Driftwood, branches, etc.

The bottom of the right side will be filled with sand, so no worries about that..and the ramps/shelves are literally like velcro now.
Also, in comparison to Shredder's size, the shelves aren't very high at all, really....especially when the accessories go in.

There's still much more to be done....
*Sanding/primering/painting the top & outside
*Installing brackets for lamps/heat emitters
*Attatching screening to back for ventillation
*Installing front plexi-glass & locks.

I understand, my bearded dragon I had was 16 inches long, but he still slipped on some things, but Im sure the sand will help.
