From what I can tell, the definite differences are:

Studio - mahogany body, maple cap, nicer finishes
Studio Faded - mahogany body, mahogany cap, "worn" finishes

There is some ongoing discussion regarding what pickups are in each. The Studios have had the 490/498 combo for years, but the "Vintage Mahogany" models had Burstbuckers. It still seems up in the air whether or not the the Studio Fadeds have BBs or the 490/498 combo.
